The best tip I can give you for right after saying "YES" to forever with your special person, is to enjoy the season of engagement!

Here are my expert tips on what exactly you should do as soon as you get engaged!

Insure That Beautiful Ring!

Engagement Ring Proposal

Get ring insurance!

You don't want anything to happen to your engagement ring, but if it does, you want to be protected!

Set Your Priorities

Setting your priorities first will set you up for success throughout the rest of your planning journey!

Decide your priority with every vendor and the overall feel of the wedding day. If you prioritize having amazing wedding photos over the quality of entertainment at your wedding - you will want to use a higher percentage of your wedding budget for the photographer.

What matters most? Guest experience, photos, entertainment, food, video footage, etc.

Your priorities for your wedding will help you create your budget and choose vendors that will lineup with your and your partner's vision!

Decide The Vibe

You don't have to choose every aspect of decor/color scheme right off the bat, but you need to have an idea of the vibe.

This will also play a role in choosing your vendors and especially the venue!

Hire A Planner

Research planners in your area that fit your aesthetic. Personality will also be a big factor in choosing your planner because you will work very closely with them.

Wedding planners have a network of other vendors that they highly recommend so that you don't have to do all of the research yourself! Of course, you can choose any vendor you like, but a planner will be able to tell you what vendors they think would be perfect for you and your partner based on budget, aesthetic, personality, location, etc. This will save you so much time researching vendors and you will know that the vendors referred to you are highly recommended from couples and wedding professionals.

Planner's will also provide you with ideas, inspiration, tips to help you save time and money, and help you enjoy your season of engagement.

Get An Idea Of Guest Count

Draw up a guest list, this doesn't have to be final or complete, but get an idea of how many guests you want to invite to your wedding.

This factors in with choosing a venue and creating your budget. Venues all have a max capacity of how many guests they can accommodate so you will need to have an idea of your guest count before touring venues. The amount of guests also affect your budget when it comes to catering, rentals, cake, etc. More guests = more $$$!

Choose A Season

Choose a season and the year you would like to get married!

You don't want to get your heart set on a specific month, especially not a specific date, because the venue/vendors you are interested in may not have that available. Be open and book your priorities first!

Follow these steps as soon as you get engaged and begin your wedding planning journey and enjoy your new season of life!
