Hello newly engaged couples! Let's talk florals...specifically, the tips and tricks to save money with wedding florals! Using florals for wedding décor is a tried and true tradition. Who doesn't love some gorgeous floral arrangements? You can go the neutral route, or go for bright and colorful! There are so many flowers to choose from, and they all cost a different price...
In Season
One way of having gorgeous fresh floral arrangements at your wedding or event is to ask your florist to use in season flowers. You may want specific types of flowers, but they may not be in season. This will cause the price to jump! You can stay within your color scheme, but request all in season florals and this will give you the vision you are wanting with the lowest price.
Silk Florals
Another well-known way to save money on florals is to use silk flowers. You can have silk bouquets, boutonnieres, arrangements... anything your heart desires. You can buy your own individual silk flowers and create these arrangements by yourself, or order from a silk floral company. You can find these locally and online with platforms like Etsy. The higher quality silk florals, the more expensive.. but these arrangements last forever! You can also resale to make your money back if you wish.
DIY Bride
A money-saving and time consuming way to save money on fresh flowers is to order in bulk! You can order bulk florals from stores like Sam's Club, Costco, and Trader Joe's. The best way to do this is to have them delivered 1-3 days before your event and place them all in water. Then they will need to be put together in arrangements the day of the event. This can save you tons of $$$, but it will also cause you to be super busy days before the event. If you have someone close to you that doesn't mind putting in the work, you could have them take care of these for you!
Dried Florals
If you are going for the dried florals look, you can go out and pick your own flowers, and then hang them to dry. This would take some time to get them all dried... but it is completely free! I would research the best plants to dry and see how they look when they are dried before attempting to pick anything you see. You can also save and reuse these after the event.
Alternatives
You can also save $$$ on florals by using other forms of décor to replace them. Many couples like the look of filling the space with candles, this creates a gorgeous, romantic vibe. Using candles adds additional lighting as well.
I hope this helps you think about your floral options and see which of these ways would work best for your budget and vision!
